Said nuke being used on the god emperor by his own empire with the soul of the kind mountain woman who was caught up in his destiny and fell in love with him and act that drives him mad to the point where he wishes to eradicate humanity

A beloved princess being turned into a lovecraftian nightmare that had to be mercy killed with the above mentioned sword by her lovers hand

A bad ending where you have to murder your own party because you became the end boss

the guy who made said sword and nuke gets off scott free

Even the throwaway villains are as ruthless as they are competent

I felt they could have gone into more detail with FF7. He just sort of saw a thing read some books and went straight to murdering. It was a creepy scene but it was rather abrupt

Fou's decent was much more gradual and climaxed when the woman he was sweet on was arrested tortured and used as a living sacrifice to use on him for a weapon so devastating it's effects makes a Chernobyl look like fun vacation spot
