Yeah, there was also Street Fighter: The Movie and Mortal Kombat 3. But Sony put more focus on Toshinden in their advertising, as a technical showcase to prop up against Sega's Virtua Fighter 1 port for the Saturn. After Tekken came out, Sega released Virtua Fighter Remix to compete with that. But, by the time Toshinden 2 came out, there was more focus on Namco's Tekken series.

I like that too, it seemed to imply that he caused the whole infighting as revenge or anger or whatever over being retired before the system could even launch.

Some of his lines were also based on the old ads, although the "You are not ready" line does not work when spoken. The whole point was that it was written as "U R not" and then red letter e, doesn't translate into speech.
