Yeah, automatic shotguns, like the Vepr 12 in pic related, tend to have more straight magazines. Curved magazines come from the taper of cartridges, as an example, 7.62x39 has a much stronger taper than that of 5.56x45, which is relatively straight, so the magazine for 7.62x39 is more curved, and 5.56 is more straight (though with a slight curve in it). The same thing applies to shotgun rounds, their magazines are straight, because shotgun shells are generally straight.
