Zelda would be classified as action-adventure, not action RPG. Action-adventure games are similar, sans any proper RPG elements like level-ups as one would find in Seiken Densetsu.

Anyway, here are a few RPGs and action-adventure titles that come to mind:
>Bomberman Quest
>Gargoyle's Quest (there's also a port of the NES prequel, but only in Japanese)
>Ultima: Runes of Virtue I and II
>Ninja Taro

Note that Gargoyle's Quest has a top-down overworld map, but dungeons and action sequences take place in side-view arenas akin to Zelda II. I still thought it would be worth adding to the list.

P.S. What happened to that other Game Boy thread? It seems to have been nuked from the catalog.
