It plays the games I want fine under OGL at native and 2x native and 3x/720p for vulkers. That's still vita+ tier
If it came from the smol handed faggot he probably left it in the power saving mode again; y'know like he did for his ENTIRE previous review.
The sticks are also vita sticks so, eh that's up to you but they've worked fine for me and there's even a calibration tool.
As for it getting warm, It can but it's not that bad, I spent over 2 and half hours playing NieR Reincarnation via moonlight the other day in a 23c bathroom and I didn't have issues with other long sessions playing GBA/WSC; not played that much PSX yet since I'm elbow deep in GBA, WSC & SFC titles and SaGa Frontier 2 just had a port announced. I can say the device never got warmer to the touch than 38c from my own body temperature measurements.

I want to know on which planet you'd have to be on to say it has great community support though.
It has portmaster, batocera is inc and tomato really doesn't count since it's a collection of small tweaks in which the incompetence of lammy cancels out any perceived benefit.

>CFW will fix it
idk if it'll fix PSP entirely since the tearing you get when you drop frames via vulkan is also still in the windows release of PPSSPP

This is a great solution, I do it too and I use a rangefinder to calculate device to eye distance.
https://shauninman.com/utils/screens/ will help with seeing how games scale to your device in integer scale and such.
If you want to go less ghetto, go to retrosizer or something or Amazon for a picture or look for good pictures taken properly with a game on screen, enter photoshop, create a canvas for your display and scale until the device matches what it should on your monitor, you can then measure via tape/ruler to confirm if your calculations are off.
