I guess it's true that you can't notice differences while you're living through the changes.

Anyway, what's the trademark of the 00s? what will be the stereotypes of the 00s? Right now, we're going through a 90s nostalgia rushdown because 90s kids are now in their 20s, so in about 5 or 10 years we should be having 00s nostalgia... I wonder how it will be... sorry if this is off topic but I think /vr/ is one of the best boards to discuss this sort of stuff.

I guess Jumping Flash is pretty 90s

Pains me to see all the people who praise Crash or Spyro, and nobody even remembers Jumping Flash (the actual best 3D platfromer on the PS).

Also, Ghost in the Shell.

Jumping Flash 1 and 2.

it's weird how little these games are remembered nowdays. They're amazing.

WHy are PS1 fanboys so obsessed about the rivalry with N64?

PS1 has a wide sleection of games. Fine. Many of them are JRPGs that didn't stood the test of time, though.

Saturn has far better-looking 2D games, and N64 has far better-looking 3D games. PS1 is average.

Also Crash is a really boring western platformer. Feels like a 3D version of all these Virgin platformers from the 4th gen. Not to mention Crash's "poochy the cool dog" design.
Jumping Flash is the better PS1 platformer.

I'm inclined to think this is kind of a falseflagging thread, or simply a thread to instigate the daily N64 vs PS1 war, I'm tired of it.

By the way I never understood Sony's way of working.
For example Jumping Flash are, to me, some of the best and most original games on the PS1, and they're better platformers than anything the west has put out on the PS1 (Crash, Spyro, etc), yet Sony totally forgot about it.

For example in the Smash sony ripoff, there were weird characters like Bioshock or Donte, which aren't even Sony exclusive, but Robbit was nowhere to be seen, not even a cameo. Jumping Flash was one of the PS1's flagship titles back in 1995. Robbit was awesome as a mascot for Sony, AND Sony owns the IP, the developers who did the game, Exact, were a 1st party studio owned by SCEJ.

I don't know what happened, why did Sony decide to kill Exact, kill Jumping Flash, and give priority to stuff like Crash or Spyro. I know in the end it worked, Crash sort of became PlayStation's mascot, at least unofficially, but Robbit could have easily been the official PlayStation mascot.
