I agree with this anon >>6670310. It does sound very awkward but if you treat "Shining" as a proper noun to denote a certain "Force of Light" as is wont to be in fantasy works, the Japanese title does end up being grammatically sound.

I genuinely do think that Shining in the Darkness, despite being a very early, primitive & simple RPG, does a lot of things right for a console RPG of its era:
>reasonable difficulty curve
>some nice puzzles & mazes
>good presentation (aesthetics & music especially)
>actually decent survival-esque aspects
>the confuse/muddle spell through the use of Demon Staff
