Mini games aside, 4 had a far more interesting world and story and the mini games end up serving a long term purpose by powering up your transformations. 3 also had a shit load of mini games and was just kind of meh world wise. far from bad. It's a good game. Just once you get past the warm idyllic country farm house there's not really a sense of direction and I didn't much like the first however many hours where you're a kid.

And the payoff with Teepo and the final villain where just completely unsatisfying.

Most underrated: Space Hulk - Vengence of Blood Angels, Grandia, Ghost in the Shell, the Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen re-release, Guardian's Crusade, Ehrgeiz for it's dungeon mode, Legend of Mana and the SaGa Frontier games, which were better than the Final Fantasy games yet in terms of plot, graphics and gameplay yet for the most part in public consciousness.

1-3 are by the books but okay

4 and 5 are both fantastic and actually have some really unique ideas and setting

Just the whole setting in general was a nice change of pace from the standard Medieval Europe. It just feels a lot more mystical.

Best story and one of the best turn based battle systems on the playstation. Plus the Chinese korean mythology is a nice change of pace compared to the standard castle and dragons we got.

What the hell do you niggas thing you where actually doing with that? You weren't making unique dragons. You weren't doing someone creative.

All you did was Form + Element. It's the same shit from the previous games just with an extra step attached to it.

What's the real difference between opening your spell menu, picking the frost dragon and casting it immediatly and opening the menu, picking frost gene picking dragon form and then adding a filler gene whose skills you wont use at all.

The later is more work. The whole thing went to shit anyways once you got kaiser and myrmadon working.

Yeah 4 might have had less dragons but given how many of 3s where out right useless or never even seen Id rather take the smaller more useful bunch any day.

but that's why 4 excels though. The whole point was that Fou and Ryu's separate paths showed them the best and worst humanity had to offer which changed their outlook on life. It's not about Yuna it's about Fou and Ryu.

Ryu saw plenty of shit but to him the bad people where aberrations, Rasso massacring the children was seen as a horrible act by his own countrymen (Ursula) and the party was there to give him a sense of belonging.

Fou Lu was on hos own and even though he saw some good in people like Mami they where similarly aberrations to him. He was hunted without mercy, innocent people got drawn into it, he was magic nuked and his girl murdered and tortured to fuel it and the emperor when given one last chance for mercy breaks on the centuries old promise and tries to kill him when his back is turned

Eventually the two come to a head and we're given the choice. Destroy the bad people at the cost of the good, or protect the good at the risk of letting the bad go unpunished.

In both cases both sides have valid points and you can see where each one is coming from. Fou's not wrong to want to punish the wicked but his madness is too much, and Ryu for all his desire to protect is only one man and can't do everything and save everyone from all the horrors that exist.

We simply don't see enough of Myria to not see her anything more than a crazy fascist. There's not doubt that she's sincere but there's no real evidence to suggest she's even remotely right in any regard. Hell the brood allowed themselves to be slaughtered at her hand, which really doesn't paint her in a good light. And the shit with Teepo comes completely out of left felt in the last act
