That's why a lot of people are so bitter towards Champions. All that potential and felt unfocused on how to properly balance or market the game. The game looks stunning with a great art direction.

That's my biggest concern regarding a Quake reboot,it would be just a reskin of Dooml. The whole "I miss my family" aspect can be done right but at the same time I don't want that it ends up with some ultra depressing scenarios,like Machine Games did with Wolfenstein.

Half-Life really did change the landscape of FPS forever and essentially "killed" what the genre had been up to that point essentially over night as devs tripped over themselves in a rush to copy it. There is light at the end of the tunnel now with the 90s FPS revival in recent years though. To deny this is to deny reality.

You got more than a week left to submit your map, we even got a rookie pimping out his first map in the first two days, if you keep you scope reasonable, anyone can do it!

As far as I can tell after beating the game the main strats were
>Shamblers are resistant to explosives
>Bait the ogre chainsaw attacks so they dont spam nades at you
>Bait death knights/scrags into hitting other enemies with their projectiles to cause infighting
>Sidestep them Fiends brah
>Hope you have some cover to cheese those Vores m8
>Hope you quicksaved before encountering that group of Spawns

Are there any more advanced tricks to the combat? Or are those basically it?

Also learned that like in Doom, you're supposed to use the pump shotgun for long range instead of double-barreled because the spray is tighter, right?
