AI upscaling is neat. I didn't have access to that 5 years ago or whatever, and it would kind of defeat the purpose of hand-drawing them to match somewhat consistently with the briefings.
I guess you can feed art styles into machine learners though. Would save a fuckload of time. Some impressive stuff with that, like matching monet's painting style and such.

This was my attempt to bring the Thief textures more in-line with the intermission art stills.
I was doing one texture a day for a while, but got burned out. Maybe I'll see if I can plug away at it again during breaks at work or something.

Thief is less of the meme game too. It's not as popular of a scene because it's not a fast paced shooter with retro cred. It's a slow plodding sneaking game with slightly more obscure retro cred (to normies).

THUMP is something I'd be most interested in (I'm too busy atm, but I have a friend who might go for it since he's a novice at Thief mapping, plus there was a seasoned thief mapper that used to frequent these threads that could help with advice maybe). QUMP is coming out sometime after this month is up.

UUMP or UTUMP (unreal, ut) would be neat too. Unreal has a lot of mapping resources online, so it's as easy or maybe even easier than quake to get into. UT99 would be even easier since it's all DM and CTF maps, so monster placement and pacing aren't as big a concern.

Just unzip it into a newdark installation of thief and overwrite the "SENPAI" folder etc etc... should be easy enough to figure out.
