Here is a demonstration of ghosting. In both pics the GBPocket's contrast is darkened to make the ghosting more obvious, and I didn't color correct the photos.
On the left is vertical ghosting. The more dark pixels occupy a column, the stronger the ghosting, even columns of 1 pixel. On the right is horizontal ghosting, where dark pixels make individual rows lighter instead. Horizontal ghosting is almost unnoticeable but vertical ghosting is pretty severe.
Looking at these pics makes me realize that the choice of frame actually effects the shading of the picture. So in the future if I find that a picture is too light or too dark onscreen, I might change frames in addition to changing contrast.
