This would have been odd as hell. DQ2 definitely has the hints of the darker aspects that would come in later DQ games, but this wouldn't have made any sense whatsover.

That said, the concept alone made me wish there was a mock-up of it, just because I find it that amusing. Honestly, I almost wish they had done it, just to see what the reactions would have been. The MC dying in the story, especially in the ending wasn't exactly a common occurrence back in the day.

It would have been amazing if they had done this to where simply using Sacrifice on Sidoh (or Hargon as they note) would have caused that ending, making it still possible but secret.
