yeah all of the levels that utilized walkways over areas you were previously at were pretty neat. the trigger system that manages this is pretty involved. you can actually see precisely how this illusion works if you enable neutral reset and go so fast over the triggers that raise and lower walls that you skip them altogether.

sometimes walls will be in your way, or like pic related, floors will no longer exist (and you can't run over them)
