I love 240p aesthetics and music of the era. Also retro is enjoyable to pick up and play for 30 minutes at a time. I’m too busy for games with a long story arch or infinite achievements.

Grit an texture is a great way to describe it. I appreciate both, started chasing razor clean scanlines then messed around with an old 20” Mitsubishi and loved the gritty shadowmask. I have to sit fairly close to see the shadowmask pattern but imho it looks great for 8 - 16 bit.
