Got a model 2 off of ebay long ago and I sorta just forgot I even bought it, but now that I'm getting more free time off work I'm starting to play it more. The thing is that I'm finding the controller's dpad feels mushy and kinda hard to press in the directions. The model 2 itself also has this messed up power button like in pic related, I was thinking of seeing how to fix it.
I'm really terrible with physical work though, I got bad trembles from way back in the day. Any tips on cleaning this stuff out?

What are the differences between Genesis models exactly, besides form factor? Which ones are you supposed to stay away from?

I found a working Model 2 at Value Village for $9. Should I keep it and get a flashcart, or just resell it and look for a different model?
