The Square Millennium edition of Final Fantasy Tactics was worth it at the time. They also released the same package for the Playstation version.

Zero. I find it fun tearing through everything Run Saber/Strider style. Rockman just takes annoyingly longer to kill popcorn enemies, with both the time to charge the buster or the under powered standard weapon. I can still dodge with Rock, but it is just more wasted time chipping away at the small fry.

Thanks.

It does seem like it was slapped together as a last minute thing. I guess it sort of reminds me a bit like the framed portraits like https://youtu.be/diA-qF2zyRo which I was watching back then.

It was a fun and exciting board. They had concept arts and some preliminary 3D models. It seemed like it was moving along well, but it disappeared. I can only hope it just went dark to avoid a cease and desist order like AM2R and unlike Chrono Resurrection.

I think it is for IronSword which I was not interested in, but the NES, Genesis, TurboGrafx, and Lynx information got me to get that issue. There is a thread devoted to IronSword which looks like it used that image for the cover of the game too at >7019286

What is the version they have emulated on the recent X collection for Switch/Xbone/PS4/PC?

Nice, I got that one too, traded one away for the Final Fantasy Tactics Millennium Collection. There's also a Playstation LE as well, but I have seen less of those.

I felt using the standard jumping attack was better. It allows you to maintain some momentum and was 3 quick successive attacks in one move. You can lightly tap the jump button to barely clear the ground to do the attack or get two of them in a dashing jump. Zero's slashes were pretty damaging, and a fun fast way to go through the game.

I thought it was fun. Admittedly, I preferred the sword swinging power of Zero more than the Rockman campaign. It is probably nostalgia for the Megaman games I've been playing since the original NES title which clouds my judgement, but it still plays very well to me. A shame it is not your thing, but I did trade away my second Saturn Limited pack for the Square Millennium release of Tactics because I had no money (and I also loved FFT). So, at one time I guess I valued a 2nd copy of X4 equal to a 2nd copy of FFT.

I am interested in trading, selling, buying to others that seem interested, because I have a few duplicates but with all the hate I get on this board it is best that I just trade them in to a retro store. I don't want to get DOXXed, and given that this is a board that features anonymity, it is likely and ripe for getting scammed. It was still amazing that Japanon helped out others on this board get some Japanese stuff, but I have a sinking suspicion someone must've screwed him over and thus he no longer posts. Very cool there was a /k/ crossposter offering a very cool game as a giveaway not long ago, but that's a rarity. That's just how things go on 4chan.

I didn't really lose out on trading away my spare limited edition JP Saturn X4, as that's how I got the Square Millennium edition of Final Fantasy Tactics.

I have to make them all the time. I have to pick and choose what games I could get because I can only afford so much. Always wanted the NeoGeo, but it is well out of my league in prices.

Speaking of which, I never really thought of dithering as a compromise, but rather just an artistic technique. Sort of like cross-hatching for shading. A lot of PC-98 games did amazing with just 16 colors and carries a look that really appeals to me. To achieve a sort of transparency, the flickering of alternating pixels were used quite often in CPS2 arcade and NeoGeo games.

I opted for the Saturn version, as my Playstation was dying. I still had tons of fun with the game. In addition, the Sega Saturn pad is perfect for my hands, so I do not see it as any loss. That searchlight does add to the mood/story of the stage, but doesn't ruin the game for me that it is not alpha blended like on the Playstation version. I just regret it now that I cannot afford to get a physical Playstation version of the game, but have to settle on the PS3 digital copy to compare, and I don't really notice the differences.

I think it was pretty fun. I guess at the time it was nice to get a special edition, which enhanced the impression I was playing something special. I got 2 on accident, and traded the other for my Square Millennium Final Fantasy Tactics. Being a Saturn player, it was nice to play the Megaman games on the wonderful controller. Unlike the Saturn's X3, this one used the full screen resolution.
