>I honestly wonder why the Super Nintendo redesign even happened, maybe contractual obligations?
Story I heard was people putting drinks like beer and soda on top of their NES then spilling it was a huge issue, so Nintendo of America wanted a design that didn't allow for enough flat surfaces on the console so people couldn't put their drinks on top of it again.

This is one case where the US version looked better in every way.

>Too bad the North American design is a bit shit

I like the North American design, has a very clean, understated look. It reminds me of a car engine for some reason. The light/dark purple colour scheme is fun without being too flashy. The Famicom/EuroSNES is still really nice though. They're both distinctively 90s without looking dated. Both designs have aged much better than the OG Genesis, which looks really tacky in comparison and lays on every 80s marketing trick imaginable ("INTELLIGENT TERMINAL / 16-BIT / HIGH GRADE MULTIPURPOSE USE")

The NA cartridges are objectively better though.

NA SNES redesign

Personally, I think the American Super Nintendo looks pretty cool. I like the angular features and I think the Super Famicom looks like a nondescript curved piece of plastic.

My biggest issues overall with the Famicom's design is the flat gray piece of plastic on the top and the power/eject/reset buttons. Also the random use of colors in the logo don't fit.

Does anyone know of a decent component to HDMI converter that doesn't introduce a fuckload of noise to the image?

I'm struggling to find something that is actually competent at conversion. The image looks decent overall, but I can just see noise in the blues and skies and whatnot in games I play.

I experienced similar noise in the Wii 2 HDMI converter.

Has anyone heard anything about an HDMI mod for the Super Nintendo or Sega Genesis?

We have them for the NES, N64, and Gamecube, but why the fuck did they skip over the SNES or Genesis?

>should get you started.
And break the bank.

If you want to play all the best games the system has to offer, then you should just invest in a Super Famicom.

Buying another console may seem like a big purchase, but the games are so much cheaper that it will balance out after buying like 2 games.

You can also use all of the same cables/controllers except for the ac adapter.

I just upgraded from 1CHIP SNES to one of the older earlier models.

I found that I no longer have
-ridiculously over-bright overpowering whites that dominate the rest of the graphics
-no more super noisy over-sharpness
-no more graphical artifacts in Aladdin and Mystic Quest
-no more ugly bright vertical bar visible in dark games like Super Metroid
-no more over-crushed sound so my SNES music can sound good now

Why do people like the 1CHIP again?

What consoles do you not like aesthetically?

I've never been quite fond of the North American SNES. It's coloring is odd and it generally just looks weird. Too much like a Fisher Price toy, I've heard some complain.
