The Pi has a DAC mate, it can shit out a composite signal as quickly as the original consoles being emulated.

Lag from the emulator itself is a non-issue when it's about 1 frame more than real hardware. Real hardware has lag too, so with runahead you can actually get LESS lag than real hardware. No game will ever require you to react in a one-frame window so it makes no fucking difference, and even if it did – even if you had a record-breaking 16.67ms reaction time – then you can just premeditate your button presses by one frame (you are ALREADY premeditating them by several frames on real hardware). Never mind that the alternative to emulation is not fucking playing the games to begin with because I'm not going to buy a Saturn and a Pseudo Kai.

Like another anon said, even if your ethernet cable's signal propagation speed is 0.3% the speed of light, you would need a kilometre-long cable to generate 1ms of lag. We have more than enough means to send an uncompressed 240p image from my PC to the Pi 60 times a second. Considering that most of these old games output 16-bit colour, then our numbers become even more favourable.

We're using CRT's in this experiment too, so STFU about lag

Want more sources? Here's just number two. Do you have any at all, for your claim that the SNES doesn't have lag? Or are you just completely retarded? Haha that's embarrassing, it looks like you don't have any evidence at all, while I have specific numbers and tests. Oof!
