/vr/ - Retro Games

so i'm having an issue with build engine games where my screen just goes black for a few moments and sometimes even a few seconds while the game continues on normaly while i can't see shit.
happened with every doom mod and now that i'm giving ion fury a try and it's happening here also, so now i now it's not some setting i fucked up in gzdoom nor some broken mods.
maybe some issues with the build engine and my pc?
i started noticing it in blade of agony too, but i thought that it was the engine shitting itself because it rarely happened in that game, but now i'm not so sure anymore since everything just goes black in EVERY mod i try and even ion fury that isn't running on gzdoom but a standalone game.
i even booted up trailblazers since i always wanted to try that and the same shit after literally 20 seconds of play, shit just goes black for a few seconds every few seconds...

fps capped at 60/vsync off and nvidia gpu/amd cpu if that matters
