If you're into the official OCG/TCG rules then it's Eternal Duelist Soul and Stairway to Destined Duel, alongside the World Championship titles, but if you prefer more alternative rules it's Dark Duel Stories, Sacred Cards, Forbidden Memories and Duelist of the Roses.

>and of course Forbidden Memories which i never finished because i suck at that game.
If you ever decide to go back to it, my main advice would be to look up drop rates on PocketDuelist (https://pd.ygo.fm/)) so you know who to farm from the get go, early on you go after Dragons, Thunders and Equips, learn how fusions work, how they're mostly by generic type than specific cards, it's simply after some trial and error, after that it's just a matter of farming Low Meadow Mage, Jono 2nd and Pegasus, so you get:

3x Meteor B. Dragon
3x Red-Eyes B. Dragon
3x Meteor Dragon
3x Megamorph
3x Bright Castle
3x Dragon Treasure
3x Widespread Ruin

I'd say these 7 cards are the ones who'll take you to the end credits, it's not easy, and Seto 3rd especially forces you to do the last 6 duels over and over until you get past him, but eventually you'll pull it off if you keep trying I suppose.

Link Evolution does feel quite lazy in many departments, the polish in Master Duel regarding graphics and presentation is way more AAA to me... the problem is that Link Evolution has a much better campaign, it's still not my favorite style of campaign, simply replaying manga/anime duels, as I prefer something more immersive and RPG like, but it's better than what Master Duel has. I really hope to try out both DotR and NT soon enough, I'm taking a break now after finishing off SDD on GBA, and I don't have a DS or PS2 emulator on my PC just yet, but eventually I hope to get to it. I'll keep in mind the NT bug too, anon. Thanks!

Kazuki Takahashi and Konami really struck gold, it's a card game that had everything to go wrong, with video games that had everything to be despised... and yet all of it was successful and is still remembered fondly. Yu-Gi-Oh! has a certain magic to it, pun not intended, that no other card game has managed to replicate.

I'll say right away that I agree with this anon (>>9107289) when it comes to emulating before buying, the current market for retro video games is inflated in prices, and Yu-Gi-Oh! had about a dozen releases on the GBA, so download some ROMs and load up an emulator, that way you can try everything and make a purchase based on what you actually liked. Now, regarding where you should start, it depends on what you're after, since you're interested in the card game then skip Dungeon Dice Monsters and Destiny Board Traveler, you can also skip the GX ones if you're looking into the original series only, that still leaves a few options though. Sacred Cards is excelent if you don't mind it not following the OCG/TCG rules, since it's an immersive recreation of Battle City, but if you want Battle City with OCG/TCG rules go for Stairway to Destined Duel, though it's not as immersive. Eternal Duelist Soul and WC2004 are more basic simulators, though the former has more content. WC2005 does the RPG feel best and Reshef of Destruction is ideal if you're a masochist. I'd try all of them, each has something to offer.

Well, I've managed to do it, never thought I'd get all cards in any Yu-Gi-Oh! video game, because all of them love having extremely low drop rates for dozens of cards, but Sacred Cards might be one of the most forgiving, so it's the one I'd go for if anyone else wants to 100% one of them. I have to say some cards were tough to get, but few overall, most naturally spawned at the shop by the end of the campaign, I had fun. All that's left to say is that I wish Kazuki Takahashi finds peace wherever he is now, he made my childhood, and even my current adult life, happier because of his work.
