And you can't read you dumb motherfucker. Anon also wasn't correct by saying scanlines create the shadow effect, but it's rather the composite signal itself that blends those lines together to make a "shadow"

personally I like the phosphor glow, but if want to turn it down/off it should be in the shader's own settings menu. (shader parameters)

Some games look super fucked if you don't fix the dithering (look at the shadows, and other lines in the first pic)

and scan-lines add shape and definition to blocky pixels. (see the faces in the last pic)

(but the lines have to be the correct with for that resolution)
