The Dendy, like pretty much every famiclone from before 2010 or so is 60 pin. Literally a Famiclone.

The 60->72 pin converters inside 5-screw Gyromites and others have pretty much dried up in the wild. Trust me, I must have looked at a thousand before I gave up and paid $12 on eBay for one that came with a Gyromite PCB but no shell for some reason. Stuck it in a $1 5-screw Baseball that I dremmeled. I got a pretty good deal though expect to pay more like $20-25 unless you're a real sniper.

Cheap shitty Famiclones are definitely around. The ones that look like N64 controllers were dirt common in the US for many years and you'll still see them in thrift stores if you keep your eyes peeled. I must have 5+ of them I paid about $3 each for but their controllers are TERRIBLE. There were other Famiclones circulating back then, but much less common to find than the ones built into N64 controller shaped housings.

Yes, cheap ass 60 pin Famiclones will play Famicom multicarts and every other real Famicom cart I've tried - or most NES games with a 72->60 pin adapter. Those are the adapters that are dirt cheap on eBay.

You can find quite a variety of clone consoles on aliexpress, the vast majority of which are Famiclones. You'll have to learn to navigate that mess though, and learn about buying single quantities and shipping and a bunch of other bullshit but it's getting a little easier to use in recent years. You'll end up paying $10-$20 for one on there but again it will have more or less shitty controllers with it - some are okay though I have one with green translucent knock-off Playstation shaped controllers that I would rate 6/10 or "barely useable" which is pretty good for a Famiclone controller.

You can build controller converters that will let you plug NES controllers into their din-9 "famiclone controller" shaped ports.

I think I've answered most of the major questions ITT but if I didn't, ask.
