I understand this sentiment a bit. But then again, I can't see how people can tolerate roaming "maps" blowing each other away with fake-ass guns, rather than spending more the 20-30 seconds in a fighting game match at home.
In an arcade it makes sense to limit players, for more quarters.

The thing I like about the VM being on is, it seems to thicken up black lines/outlines on 2D/pixelated games on the set, making them more "comic-like" if you will.
Brightness is set slightly above mid and contrast(picture) is set at about 3/4. So the image is pretty bright there, leaving the VM to bring out outlines.

2D games look a hell of a lot better to me when bright and sharp. When I switch to PS1, etc 3D stuff I tend to swap to a dimmer and softer setting.
Didn't know consumer sets ran so cool though. 9300K is batshit.

There are bad Castlevania games. SC4 is not among them unless you're playing the troll playing game, Super Contrarian X: Bait of the Hoodwink.

Now THAT is a shitty game, no question.

MK1 is my drug of choice. Most people hold MK2 as the best(for good reason) and consider the first as crap in comparison but not me. My nostalgia boner for the original Mortal Kombat is diamonds. Everything from the music, bosses, and especially the backgrounds are IMO better.
