I don't care if it's the cliche answer, but Grim Fandango is probably my favorite, at least for traditional point n clicks.. It's what I think of when someone says "Point n Click". Considering how much I love Blade Runner I really should get around to playing the game one of these days.

Riven is so fucking good, one of the best puzzle games ever made. The way it forces you to study and understand a totally alien culture is still unparalleled. It seems a little strange to call it a point n click, but I guess it technically is.

this basically. The story and world is one of my favorites in any medium, the acting is great and so is the art and soundtrack. Hell, even the cinematography is great, with the fixed cameras being placed to give the most impressive perspective of each area. But dear god, the gameplay is dreadful. The dialogue is fun but the puzzles are some of the worst of the "adventure game logic" that you'll find.
I'm not sure how you could make it a movie though. Puppets?
