>games that are pointless to play single player yet people do anyway.
I'll start with an easy one, but what is this phenomenon called? Billy-No-Mates Syndrome?

What are strategies that if you see an opponent use, will instantly make you lose respect/take the fight less serious?
Jumping into a low sweep is and has always been nigger tech

Something I've always wondered (game audio/music related):

You know how in SNES games like Super Mario World and Street Fighter 2, when the time starts to run out or the fight is almost over, the music speeds up to a 'panic-like' state? Remember how whenever the music sped up, it would immediately transition to a faster version of the tune with no breaks/restarts in between, and still stay in the same key/pitch as before.....just with a faster tempo?

I've noticed that in newer-generation disc-based games (at least older ones like PS1/PS2), when they try to recreate that effect, the music is faster.....but the new faster music starts from the beginning again, instead of continuing cleanly in the middle of the song, like in the old cartridge-based games

Why was this? Was the disc unable to transition cleanly between the regular-speed tune to the faster-speed tune, while mid-song? Was this some sort of limitation that disc-based games had which cartridges could do......or did the game makers simply choose a different way of transitioning the faster music?

I know this is an oddly-specific thing to ask about but I've been wondering for years...
