/vr/ - Retro Games

Been playing this again recently. Last time I played it I was maybe 6 years old. Because of hurr durr angry video game reviews this game is notorious for being hard, and consequently, bad. But I have to say it's not nearly as hard as I remember and it's pretty damn fun. Is this game unfairly judged because one person made internet fame by being angry? Anyone here enjoy it? Bonus question: I never played the second one. Is it better?

>sell some stuff on a flee market
>trynna make some money for new games
>try to sell my beloved Contra (why? -->desperate for new games)
>some older kid comes over with pic related in his hands
>tells me he is bored of this 'great game'
>wants to trade it for Contra
>try to impress him because he is older or some shit
>"yeah, let's trade...the game looks cool"
>suddenly want to go home
>pack my shit up
>finally a new game :')
>3 hours later
