6th gen was when the disappointment really started and people began to stop being optimistic for the future. When game franchises started having their first biggest blunders if they didn't die outright. It had a lot of good games like God Hand but overall it's where the downward spiral began.

Melee had a magical vibe about it when it came out. Since it was so heavily based on the foundation the N64 Mario and Zelda laid out it really looked like the Gamecube was going to be the N64 but better in every way.... then we got Windwaker and Sunshine...

The worst Zelda game was Wind Waker if you were (like myself) one of the kids screaming your lungs out from the E3 trailer that showed Link fighting Ganon, only to be greeted by a game with cartoon designs for 3yo kids

People found it weird, everyone wanted a oot sequel and all we had was mm creeper shit or ww faggotry. By the time twilight princess came out our childhood had ended, it was like a generation too late because of Nintendo’s fuckup. If I had a time machine I would go back and give us the Zelda which everyone was expecting from the space world tech demo
