You can just have VirtualBox use a host drive, what I do with Windows 98 is I mount the images with Daemon and have VirtualBox use that drive.

And a roundabout way of bringing files into it (or taking from it) is if you hook up the Win95/98 hdd to a WinXP or beyond as a secondary hdd and have that setup with the network folder thing.

I've never setup internet on my Win98 VM.
