Can we have an actual conversation about this image?
Do online FAQ's enhance or hurt games? On the one hand, puzzles can be more difficulty with the reasonable expectation that users can look it up if need be. And there's no shit like getting stuck on the cylinder in Sonic.
On the other hand... We... Pic related. Plus, I hate guides doing number theory for the masses and reducing games to a few online guides giving the 'best' strategies. I actually enjoy doing number theory on my own and taking a stab at discovering my own best path. With guides, it feels like this is impossible- as everyone else is using the perfect optimized path.

Please don't turn this into a our-generation-of-gamers-is-better-than-this-generation discussion. I want to talk about how guides have effecting the industry.
