I don't expect a SERIOUS plot but that doesn't mean RETARDED is okay either. They have no real interaction and the idea of them falling in love is dumb even for resident evil.

Compare to say RE Dead Aim. The main couple there don't try to sell it off as TWU WUV they're just some spies who flirt some then end the game snogging while waiting for rescue. The game's dumb as hell but doesn't try to sell serious drama like RE2 did.
