Canadian here, Toronto specifically. Need some advice.

Is ordering a PVM over eBay inherently really risky ? Like, is it something to avoid at all costs ? I ordered a PVM-20M4U over a month ago, and it arrived damaged. I received a full refund, tried to get it fixed and the repair guy said it wasn't worth it.

Here are my options. The repair guy said that within a few weeks, he will have a chance to talk to a client who has several 20" and 25" monitors (potentially pvm or bvm) that he could hook me up with. Additionally someone on Kijiji is selling a pvm-2030 for $500. It has pictures and seems legit, but it doesn't have component and I'm looking for something like the 20m4u or better. My final option is to order again online but it would be from the same seller likely (he has the best selection). I'm hoping if I do this, it will survive shipping this time - but if it doesn't, would I get the same sort of refund ?

Here are some pictures of the damage done to the one I ordered.
