PSP Go guy again, I think the honeymoon period is over for me. I've been putting in many hours on it and I'm not sure it fits my use case anymore.
As a handheld, it's not very comfortable to hold for long periods. The analog stick is in a much better position compared to the regular PSP, but overall it's very cramped due to how thin and flattened out it is. I can do a few rounds in CTR just fine, but during my playthrough of Ys Oath in Felghana I kept stopping to massage my hands and prevent cramping.
I did however buy and fix this in order to do game capture from real PSP hardware, and even though it's been giving me problems due to how it does display out I've found it to be great at it, especially because the Dualshock 3 alleviates the controls issue. Here's the thing: I've owned a PSTV for over two years now, and after comparing the footage I've found that the capture is almost exactly the same between the two. Just have Sharpscale installed and set the PSTV to 480p, then PSP games will display just like they do on a real PSP, just through HDMI instead of component. Runs the same too, which was a given since the Vita uses most of the same hardware that's in the PSP.
I actually stopped using the PSP Go entirely last week, I started a playthrough of Monster Hunter Freedom 1 using the Go for the first 3 hours, then swapped over to the PSTV and found there was essentially no difference in doing so with my setup. It sucks because it cost me about $300USD getting all the stuff together and a long weekend fixing the PSP Go, but it was at least a nice little project for me to tinker with. I don't think I'll be using it all that much in the future, and I might even end up selling it down the line just so it doesn't collect dust in a bin.
