How can we tell the difference between something which is genuinely half-finished, and something which is merely affecting a half-finished aesthetic?

I mean, sure, a lot of games get rushed out the door. But that also makes that quality a convention of the medium which somebody could affect intentionally...
Nintendo are an example of somebody with unlimited resources, and more than enough industry experience that there's no genuine reason they should EVER find themselves in a rush scenario. Konami is another.
