It really comes down to preference, do you want a cross or a circle/disk? If you can pick that, then the choice within those categories doesn't really change much. Of course, you could argue for the PlayStation's unique style, or a modern take with the circle on XBOX, but mostly it's SNES/Saturn.

P.S. I love the 8BitDo M30's one, it's superb.

It really is fantastic, if only it had analog sticks... I wish 8BitDo would go and make a competitor to RetroBit's analog Saturn controller and just take the M30's base while adding analogs to it, it'd be fantastic and I'd buy it on a heart beat for sure.
