>The screen is stretched on a game supposed to have stunning pixel art.

Pretty sure that can be fixed if you play emulated, which considering the game is a Jap exclusive you're most likely to do.

>The load times are increased and the loading rooms are meaningless.
>Except Castlevania SotN is not Resident Evil.

My point was, it was a PS1/Saturn game, the amazing thing isn't that the Saturn version has loading times, but that the PS1 version doesn't. The loading times in the Saturn version are really not much and on par with any disc game of the era.

>No transparencies even though Saturn could do transparencies (already explained to have been the job of unskilled devs).

This is always brought up like it's a big deal, but it's not like transparency is everywhere in the game, it's a rather small detail blown out of proportions. The dithering is fine, and besides IIRC emulation can turn it into transparency as well.

>Terrible sprite work on the new enemies.

Your point of view, I think they're fine and either fit Castlevania as a whole like the new skeleton or ghost enemies. The only enemy I can think that can be considered "cartoony" is the human face tree and it fits its environment well.

>Meaningless extra levels
Again, your opinion. I've already went over why I think they're great, but I can also add they're fun to explore.

>Pic related. Pretty obvious he's calling it shit.

Yeah, no. He's basically saying he doesn't like them because it wasn't done by him for what he considers "his" game and it was probably done without his consent too, or even telling him about it until it was done. That's how it's done and he sounds like he's just sour and bitter because he doesn't own the games and can't take the decisions.
Besides "I couldn't put my name on that stuff" to me means he's saying he had nothing to do with it, and he's avoiding responsibility.

My favorite SOTN playthroughs are the ones with the Luck code. But even then, you soon get quite strong for the game (even more when you get to 50 MP for Soul Steal). I'll try making the saturn version work on an emulator, to see the extra places and play as Maria. It's a pain to set up, though.
