I love the artstyle of the series and i play it more then i should, it peaked at 2 imo

I was about to ask something when I noticed the old thread died so let's make this a RS general.

Is there a recommended party setup?
Right now my party is Gray - Miriam - Sif - Barbara and Albert and I'm deciding if I should rescue Jean.
Gray and Sif are my front liners, Miriam and Albert at the middle (I'm trying to make Al good with the Halberd) and Barbara with water magic and a greatbow at the back.

Is there a tier list for party members out there?

I want to get into the Saga games but people tell me to avoid starting with Romancing Saga 2, in spite of me being a difficulty junkie.

Which game is good to start with? Can I just start with Romancing Saga 1 for SNES or PS2? How about the Saga frontier games?
