/vr/ - Retro Games

I was a pretty damn spoiled only child and my grandma basically bought most of the stuff I wanted (except for the Neo Geo, which I didn't dare to ask for, but maybe I could have gotten away with it as well).
My timeline is starting with ColecoVision (good games like DK, DK Jr, Pac-Man, LadyBug, Smurf, Galaxian) when I was a toddler, then a bit later they got me a Famiclone with a multicart that included many of the early Famicom classics, then Super Mario Bros. 3 which blew my mind.
Played a lot of Famicom until 1994 when I got both, the SNES and Genesis, and got a lot of games for both, great times. Genesis games were also all bootlegs so they were very cheap.
In 1995 my family got a PC and played lots of Doom and many PC classics, though I was more drawn to console games to be honest.
Then in 1996 I got both PS1 and N64 the same month (October, when N64 released), and some time later a Sega Saturn. Lots of multiplayer with N64 until the year 2000 with friends, great memories.
I think I lived through the golden era.
Then I got a Dreamcast, Gamecube and PS2 but by then I was a teenager and wasn't that much into video games, and the times I wanted to play them, I'd go back and play some SNES or Genesis, still my favorite consoles.
