The FPS general is pretty much a Doom general and stuff like this is ignored sometimes, or at least it most probably is considering that thread had 400+ replies by now. I didn't see the Blood thread, sorry... I should've used ctrl+f but they weren't talking about this matter anyway, which is imo the greatest question at this moment, something that deserves the very sentence in the OP as the main topic. If you aren't interested just go on one of those threads you mentioned and don't bump this one, easy.

I don't get the Blood is hard meme. I've had way more issues with "Damn i'm Good" on DN3D rather than "Extra Crispy" on Blood, and i've played a lot of both. This because there are way more methods with the latter that will make you avoid dying: crouching, taking cover, jumping, using well your OP weapons, and so on; all these things make a huge difference when compared to your average gameplay methods on DN3D. That's at least my opinion, i'm not saying that Blood isn't challenging, but i think that once you grasp the basic stuff and work from there, it'll be a breeze, way more than other build games.

You must change your way of playing. That's not Doom, you are thin but now armless: use the weapons wisely, especially TNTs. You're probably right in regard of knowing the map beforehand, but that's a thing you manage to internalize with time. I'm not saying you must grind hours for a single level, just start with little steps, for example: choose the 2nd difficulty at first, hell, even in the very first one you'll get plenty of damage if you're willing to tank, so be careful. Then save often (i'm not saying to savescum, just do it like, everytime you pick up a key or something). It's surely a game that you gotta know beforehand if you want to truly enjoy it without dying continously but trust me, it pays off so damn well.

How's the situation with BloodGDX Multiplayer? Is it still pretty unstable? What about the good ol' "BloodBath" ? I just want to play with /vr/os...

Doom franchise on sale on Steam. Should i buy Doom or Ultimate Doom? The latter seem to be the more obvious choice because it adds a new episode. It's heavily implied i'm a complete noob on this serie, i've played a lot of games, Heretic, Quake, Strife, Blake Stone, Rise of the Triad, Duke Nukem, Blood, Hexen and many more, and now it's finally the time to explore one of the pillars. Don't know why i didn't do so before, perhaps i was too absorbed with build games at the time. inb4 don't buy the Steam version; please don't tell me that. Just tell me if you think the "new" episode is worth it or not. Thank you guys, hopefully you'll not kick me out of here like a /v/ infant.
