I really fucking hate when people keep saying SA1 is just better than S3K. It fucking hurts my hard seeing people think all the mechanics that were revolutionary for 2D platformers were "perfectly recreated in 3D" when so fucking much of it is fucking gone in SA1

So much of that game feel classic Sonic had is just not in SA1, and it's so tiresome seeing people that clearly didn't like classic gameplay like I did claim they nailed it

I don't care if it was "all they could do" I've enjoyed S3K far too much to settle with mediocre. It's like playing Sonic Colors and claim it's the best boost game when Unleashed and Gens shits all over it level design wise and gameplay wise, at least for the boost controls. That's what praising SA1 is for me, praising a product you think was perfect when it isn't. Another example, Preferring Mario 64 over 3D World. While M64 was a much more focused product over SA1, M64 is like a new style of Mario instead of SMB1-W into 3D, which 3DWorld did right. Every element was basically transferred directly with no discrepancy with the gamefeel compared to M64. Again, especially at the time, the hardware wasn't there to do that so easily, but even in Galaxy, the game just isn't 2D Mario in 3D, but a good side off from it. Meanwhile the entire Adventure era just feels like a crummy spinoff to classic era Sonic. I just want Robo Blast 2 but with the fucking physics of S3K and that's how Sonic should be in 3D forever, at least for me to enjoy.

Thank god for that. If a map requires (G)ZDoom I usually just skip it

If you make a map and it can only be played on (G)ZDoom, it's a bad map. It's not even a Doom map at that point.

If you're going to make maps that require jumping, dynamic lights and a shitton of ZDoomisms, why even bother keeping a pretense that it's a Doom map. Why not just go and make a Quake map or an asset flip in Unity at that point.

You might say "oh well then Boom/limit-removing isn't even a Doom map anymore either!" Wrong. At the very least they're extensions of the engine with the same direction of the original. ZDoom is just something else altogether.

>Dark Knight is an 'I already won the game class'
Bitch, I spent hours grinding for a team of DKs before reaching Dorter in Chapter 1. By the time I was done it had made the random battles almost unwinnable for enemy DPT but I had them.
I called my squad 'The Dark Knights of Dorter.' Still got the save file on my PSP. And yeah, it does break the game but half the fun is making the journey to break it. And there's plenty of other breaking mechanics as well. Yes, I'm looking at you Orlandeau.
