I remember playing Rayman 2 on Dreamcast, and in the ending credits, it said something like "based on the novel The Great Escape by Paul Brickhill", and now I can't find any evidence of this anywhere. Tell me I'm not going crazy, does it say this in the credits or anywhere else?

>not a collectathon
>not an expore-a-thon
>not a linear corridor obstacle course
>just pure soul, plain and simple
>so good they released it like 20 times

Probably the greatest example of gameplay and level design for its time and for the N64. I played almost every N64 game as a kid, but this one had so much depth to it that I was never able to compare other games, with perhaps the only exception being Super Mario 64. What do you think?

Was this actually good?

I never gave it a chance when it came out because it was so different from the original Rayman, which me and my friends were huge fans of back then.

Even as a child I was taken aback by how much more soulless this was, compared to the first.

What's the best version of Rayman 2?

What version of this is the best? Trying to decide which to play. There's so many and they all seem to have significant differences.
