fianl fantasy 5 has just as many, if not more road blocks and " single win condition" fights in it when compared to ff3, take the bomb battle that needs to k-o them at the same time, ( i only survived this fight due to dragoon's jump just like in ff3 against garuda) or risk getting exploded on. This same fight premise is resued on the crystal fight right before Galuf dies. there is the boss in the library which is resistant to physical attacks. and the literal fucking tower that separates your party into physical and magical halves. if that is not railroading worse than ff3 then i don't know what is. desu i am only pointing this out because i have read people call ff5 a "better ff3" and i just disagree to the max. the ff5 job mixing is godly, but it distributes AP so slowly for the mixing to feel awesome. ff3's simplicity made it easy enough for you to have 3 roles dedicated to the "optimal" strategy, and 1 open slot to be your personal favorite, for me it is the dragoon.that jump ability has been the final hit to destroy cloud of darkness on more than 1 of my playthroughs of both famicom and DS versions
