I've heard mention of some romhacks for the classic Megaman games that integrate the quick weapon switching feature from the later entries in the series. Is there one to hotswap the armors in MM6? That would make the game substantially more replayable IMO.

Also looking to figure out how to unlock the E-reader shit from Mario Advance 4. Apparently the extra stages are neat, so I want to try them.

Post hacks/tweaks of retro games that make them better. Retranslations, QOL stuff, bugfixes, etc.

>mfw outside of a few episodes, the Mega Man cartoon was actually pretty good
Don't get me wrong though, the bad episodes were pretty bad.

0: Renamed shotgunners to Officer, big dudes to SWAT.
1: Shotgunners now use projectiles
2: Cyber cops use the same spray of projectiles
3: UMP no longer reloads for twice the ammo on Skill 4 or sv_doubleammo
4: Replaced the Depezador's sprites, split the sounds in twain and beefed them up slightly.
5: Added reloading for the depezador
6: Added particles on firing the guns
7: Removed all of the unnecessary AI on the SpecOps. While good AI is great for later foes, for mooks that'll go down in one hit (and are supposed to charge in blindly anyway), this is just...bloat.
8: Gave their laser a new sound too.
9: Rehauled everyone's death drops to be the same. Even more of a chance to drop clip, now also a chance to drop shells.
10: Smoothed out the recoil on the shotgun a bit to match the assault rifle.
11: Instead of a guaranteed chance, now both officers and SWAT have a 1/4 chance to drop the depezador. I think it'd be better if one of the bathroom doors opened up to reveal a pathway to the shotgun after the fifth wave or so?

>accuracy
That right there is the problem. ZSNES on a 133 Mhz computer runs almost any SNES ROM at a playable speed and looks good, while SNEmulDS and whatever emulator the PSP has have issues playing anything at either the right speed and/or without graphical glitches. I don't understand why they don't sacrifice some speed to actually make the games playable.

Also, If you truly want accuracy while playing your game, get an SD2SNES or a Super Everdrive and play on the actual console. I absolutely love my SD2SNES. Emulators like bsnes/higan are not for playing game, but for documenting how the the system they emulate works, and even those emulators are not 100% accurate. For a general emulator for people to just play games, playability is much more important than accuracy, and it should easily be possible to get nearly every SNES game to play smoothly on the PSP by doing that.

8 is the weakest Classic game that I've played. I liked 5, 6, and 7 much, much better than it. The only Mega Man game that I've played that's worse than 8 is Mega Man X7.

Hows it going /vr/?
What are some of your favorite Mega Man songs?
Mega Man 5 and 6 have some of my favorite tunes, and I love X2's soundtrack a lot. I always felt like the Mega Man games never got repetitive with all it's sequels because of how different every level is with their themed stages, and tunes. Every game has different bosses, music, stages, I just love it so much how much love was put into these games, every game feels new, and that is probably why every time I decide to play a Mega Man game, its always a struggle to decide "What to play today?"
