/vr/ - Retro Games

Might as well try it here. Hey guys, I recently bought a Switch and want to get the expansion pack for Mariokart and 'Doom Eternal'. Both are downloadcode only. Do I need a Nintendo Online membership in order to be able to download these games, because I fon't feel like getting one. Is there any way to check the size of these downloadable games and what would be a decently sized sd-card for this purpose? Much obliged.

So I need to get a cartridge and put the game on there myself and pay for it? What a time to be alive. That's why I'm asking about the online membership, which isn't free. I just want to play the games, without jumping through hoops.
