And even that does not sound like a good deal, proof alone it is the correct answer to OP's question.

>>9078782
That would be the answer to OP's 2nd question.

>>9079159
The next question is how to reproduce the same effects on other platforms. Even obscure and unliked stuff is oddly pricey, such as Virtual Boy or Jaguar.

>>9079221
That is very odd. In my experience, I have found them to be the most durable without any failures. Unless someone purposely cut traces or used them as experiment boards for component soldering practice, are the only way I can imagine them not working. They've survived floods, can work even while being dirty, even function while not being seated properly; practically indestructible.

Atari 2600 games have been cheap all the way back since the 1900s.

They have already decreased. Atari 2600 games are $3 each. You can get most years of Madden, PGA, and FIFA games for just $2 dollars.

I got the 2 which I read is an Atari-on-a-chip with the added bonus it has solder pads to add a cartridge port. I figured it could be a practice PCB for me to learn how to solder. If I fuck up, the world will not miss a flashback system.

If you do not add the cartridge port, it has 40 built in games, some of which are new/original titles, but still a decent set of 2600 games. The two joysticks are accurate to the originals, so they're not very accurate, best replaced with Genesis controllers which works perfectly. The 2 only outputs component, and I don't think there's an RGB mod for the system.

While I did play the 2600 before the NES came out, I have no nostalgia for it. The 2600 features games which are not suited to everyone, so $18 for a practice PCB is costly to me, but I was amused for 5 minutes. It sure beats an actual 2600 which runs $77 here in the US (with games $3.30 each). The other editions of the Atari Flashback systems are NES-on-a-chip based, so you lose the ability to add a cartridge port, but features more games (but loses out on the few Activision games on 2). I think the newer ones may have an HDMI out too, with wireless controllers, but by then you may as well just emulate.

Surprised no one has posted /vr/ prices bingo image yet. My local bookstore still sells 2600 games for $3.30USD each.
