I can't speak for those kinds of users, but I think they do it for one of a few reasons
>They don't actually play video games and just want to feel like they belong to some group
>They are perfectionists constantly looking for the next best thing and are extremely nitpicky
>They are possibly reviewers that horde devices after reviewing them on their channel/blog
>They just like collecting chinkhelds for the fuck of it
>They're scalpers that want to brag and sell as much of the fuckers as possible on the used market for high prices.
Could be any one of these scenarios or even multiple combinations of them, but I think option one is the most likely.
