I don't think that guy should shout on the character select screen, since if you only see his head, you cannot properly tell that it's the Phalanx guy.
So the face he makes should be reminiscent of the box cover he is on.

It should definitely be Doomguy with no helmet. His face has been burnt into the minds of innumerable gamers. Either Doomguy or Duke Nukem, at any rate - you could have fun making a nontextured Duke model.

I'd also recommend Segata Sanshiro, and the long-mouthed pierce brosnan from the Goldeneye cover.

And since we don't have any girls yet, we'd definitely need both Rami and Popful Mail.
