Its incredible. Even 2 decades after I first played it, its still a joy to come back to. The little shortcuts in the castles, like flying up the tiny passage between two thowmps to bypass half the level, or needing tiny mario to walk under those spikes in the flooded one by butter bridge, soda lake, all the alternate routes that lead to star road, TOP SECRET AREA, its just a joy. I did a replay one time not going for secret exits at all, trying to rpetend I was doing the standard route and not looking for hidden exits or keys, and theres jsut so much of the map you miss out on. Theres so much you can see thats jsut out of reach on the world map that you think "gee, there's got to be SOME way to get over there..."

and even when youve got all 96* on the title screen, theres still tiny parts of the map that you think surely...just maybe there really is a hidden level there...
