Skip it and play the ZX Spectrum port. It plays better than the MSX original (the one on GOG) and you can get it for free.

The ZX Spectrum port of Metal Gear was much more faithful to the original than the mangled port the NES got. This was true of most Speccy ports, especially the Arcade ones, where the NES would get butchered versions that were practically a different game. (Some say this was a strength as the games were "tailor made" to the NES lmao)
