/vr/ - Retro Games

I'm kicking myself for not taking some pictures because I found a tiny (but charming) arcade in a small southern Ohio mall the other day.

>narrow store gutted into a typical kids gambling den straight out of the 80s
>place is decorated to the 9's from top to bottom
>SMALL cafe eating area where they serve pretzles, nachos, pizza ect
>well lit register and prizes are against the very back wall projecting an inviting light to players to come hither and partake
>helpful staff who are actually happy to be there
>has a second floor called "retro room" with hand painted characters from the 90s on wood cutouts
>sad selection of barely functional games from 89'-99' ish
>8 games or so spread out to fill the room
>sticks are all shot
>cabs physically rickety
>most of the CRTs are burned out, the wrong color, dim or flickering some with no sound
>talk to some of the locals and learn all the games in there were collected from other businesses in town that had gone out of business over the years.

The workers there were excited to be relocating into a larger area within the mall so I will take some pictures next time I am down.

Bought a lot of broken consoles to find where someone had spilled pepsi onto a Neo Geo pocket and by the grace of god it missed all the vital components.

[/spoiler] bought a PS3 from a yard sale for cheap and the previous owner was what you would call a gamer stoner. Pictures of him smoking on the system, his user name was something like xXXBluntsmoke69-1995XXx and found tons of ash in the fan

the proper term for this is a super gun, You can build one yourself if you''re handy with a soldering iron.
