Here's hoping they finally bring Square's Tom Sawyer overseas. Any Uematsu bangers hiding behind this game?

You're probably thinking about Square's Tom Sawyer game. They're completely different games.

Everyone knows Square. Before merging with Enix, they were responsible for some of the greatest console JRPG's of all-time, including Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, etc. etc. the list goes on. One could say with confidence that they've never made a bad game.

...Or have they? Turns out, before AND after making the first Final Fantasy, Square was responsible for a lot of garbage titles. The vast majority of them only ever came out in Japan (and for good reason), but some managed to slip through to North America regardless.

Pic related, it's "Square's Tom Sawyer", an NES RPG they made shortly after the release of Final Fantasy II, complete with racially insensitive blackface, a historically inaccurate adaptation of the famous story, and some of the worst gameplay on the NES.

What are some other awful Square games nobody ever talks about?
